Professional Netball Coach at Upper School Sports
During our Sports Lesson on Thursday 19th January, we had a special visitor for the Class 5 and 6 children. Wendy Quintyne, who is a professional netball coach works with both children’s and adult’s teams .We all had loads of fun; at first we played some drills to do with throwing and catching and moving about the court quickly. Then soon enough we began a match which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We love having Wendy at Sports and we would love for her to come again! She is coming to Sports again this Thursday to work with Class 3 and 4 too so it's very exciting!! We would like to say thank you to her for all her help! By Fran Campbell (Sports Captain)
Attendance of Swimming and Sports Lessons
As you know, sports and swimming lessons are compulsory and are an important and integral part of our curriculum; all children must take part. However, if on occasion, there is a specific medical reason why your child is unable to take part in sports lessons, parents must write a letter to the Class Teacher to explain why, including a doctor’s medical note where appropriate for our official school records. Due to the strict supervision rules at the swimming pool, if a child in the Lower School is unable to swim, parents will be asked to collect their child from school prior to the lesson and return them to school for any lessons or clubs afterwards. For Upper School non-swimmers, children are to remain in school and will be supervised while the remainder of the class have their swimming lesson.
Cameron House School Scarf - Fleece Alternative Now Available!
Following the success of the fleece scarves, the Cameron House School winter hat will now also be available in matching fleece. Just like the scarf, it is soft and comfortable and children may wear it as an alternative to the wool hat which is of course still available from Peter Jones if parents prefer. To see a sample, please visit the School Office. If you would like to order a fleece hat, please email jussie.burbidge@btopenworld.com and leave cash or a cheque for £10 in the School Office payable to Miss J Burbidge. Deliveries will be made to the school as soon as possible after your order has been placed.
RBKC Road Safety Calendar Competition Presentation 2012
On Tuesday evening, Caroline (Class 1 Teacher and Art Coordinator) joined some of the winners of the competition at the Town Hall in Horton Street, for the Road Safety Calendar Competition Presentation. Entries throughout totalled over 1800 from 31 schools in the Borough, so it was a wonderful achievement for Cameron House. It was a marvellous occasion - congratulations once again to Isabelle Lhuilier and Luca Branger (Class 5) on their success.
