The Insider
Autumn Term 2008
Dear Parents,
This week we are enjoying our Harvest celebrations. The cake sale on Tuesday morning was a great success. Thank you to everyone who supported this event by baking such scrumptious cakes (I know just how delicious they were from firsthand experience!) and for allowing your children to buy and enjoy the cakes at morning snack time. I am delighted to announce we raised £185.40 for the Regeneration Trust (Worlds End, Chelsea) from this event. Tomorrow we are looking forward to our Harvest collection (please see separate the letter for details); again thank you so much for your continued support.
On Wednesday we held our "Big Book Bank" day. This was a fantastic success, allowing the children to share books with each other, recycle and raise the profile of reading in a fun and positive way. Thank you to Sasha Nederpelt (Reception Teacher and English Coordinator) for organising this excellent event. I am delighted to attach Class 1’s lovely newsletter with this week’s Insider. I am sure you will enjoy reading all about the children’s thoughts on “life in Class 1”!

Notices
On Friday the 19th of September, as part of their History topic this term, The Aztecs, Class 4 experienced a wonderful workshop. They enjoyed learning about the history and hierarchy of Aztec society through lots of entertaining games and drama activities.
Your child will be bringing home a letter soon outlining details of our up-coming “Jeans for Genes Day” on Friday 3rd October. This charity event is a fun way for us to raise the profile of this very worthy cause and the children’s charities it supports, whilst raising funds for their ongoing excellent work. Please see the separate letter for details.
Your child will have brought home a "Northbrook Gift Wrap" brochure last week. Thank you for all the orders placed so far. There is a minimum order amount set by the company, so please do submit an order if you haven’t already done so! Please ensure that all orders are placed before half term. All items will be delivered after half term. Thank you for your support.
